While studying acting with Sanford Meisner, Loyd Williamson observed that his fellow students' responses were often inhibited by physical tension. Loyd went on to develop a popular movement technique that approaches the actor's body through a dancer's sensibilities. The Williamson technique is a rigorous yet sensually energizing method of performance training.

In this class students will explore a deep connection to the sensory world and be introduced to Open Choreography: a movement vocabulary intended to lengthen and release excess tension in the body. You are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions and no prior experience with the Williamson Technique is necessary.
